One of the latest additions to Lemala’s luxury collection is Nanyukie Tented Lodge in Eastern Serengeti. Witness outstanding views of what seems like endless plains as the camp sits on a grassy opening from the kopjes and is shaded by the famous African acacia trees. The tented lodge is fitted with canvas walls and hardwood decks that provide a contemporary feel, but warmth is brought by textured accessories and colourful African detailing. The main communal area comprises a comfortable lounge and bar with attached decking that leads to exquisite outdoor viewing and a refreshing swimming pool. You will have the choice of dining under the comfort of canvas or the beauty of the African sky with indoor and outdoor dining areas. You will also have the chance to enjoy delectable bush breakfast or romantic lantern-lit dinners.
The swimming pool is just off from the main communal tent and is protected by a large kopje outcropping. Head to the pool that provides privacy and soak up the afternoon sun, or dip into the cooling water of the pool before sipping on some delicious cocktails. It is a wonderful spot to unwind after a long day out on the plains, whilst still having incredible views over the Serengeti. Not far is the separate spa tent secluded for ultimate relaxation, hidden amongst the trees with a variety of massage treatments available.
For maximum privacy, the 15 luxurious guests tent suites are spaced away from each other and every one of them has incredible views out over the plains. Nestled among the kopjes, these contemporary designed spaces are the perfect secluded areas to unwind, wash and sleep off the day’s adventures, ready for the next. Each suite is furnished with hardwood flooring and furniture, spectacular chandeliers and oversized beds. The suites are spacious with the bedroom, lounge and also bathroom where you have access to a shower and glorious freestanding bath. Head out onto your private wooden deck with sunken seating, a magnificent plunge pool, and even an outdoor shower.
Activities at Lemala Nanyukie Tented Lodge
Enjoy the spectacle of the annual wildebeest migration, where you will see thousands of wildebeest cross the dangerous Mara River to birth and feed their young. But don’t fret, if you aren’t heading out during the great migration there is still great game viewing all year round and this particular area is well known for its concentration of big cats. You can head out on a game drive or bush walk with one of Lemala’s expert guides who will show you where the best spots for wildlife viewing are. They will show you how they can track these animals, where the favourite sunbathing spots are, and teach you about the Serengeti life that these animals lead.
Take to the skies in a hot-air balloon safari ride, for an additional cost. Watch as the herds travel across the plains, as the big cats hunt for their prey and soar amongst the birds, all whilst sipping on a glass of champagne. Once you land on solid ground, you will be treated to a beautiful bush breakfast before heading back to camp. Then why not watch the sunset over this magnificent place as you enjoy the African tradition of a sundowner with your fellow travellers. Sip on cocktails as you discuss the adventures of the day whilst the sun sets across the plains and the beautiful night sky fills with stars.
Tripadvisor comments Lemala Nanyukie Tented Lodge
Slice of heavenly luxury in the Serengeti. No fencing so you feel part of the place while feeling safe. Fabulous views from every huge window. Professional and friendly staff. Would love to have stayed longer. Highly recommend the experience.

We have stayed 5 different luxury camps during our 10 day safari trip. I would say this camp is the best. The facility is new and good: indoor and outdoor shower, deck with private pool. We feel so relax here that we even go a half-day safari during stay here. This camp is close to Eastern Serengeti, where we have the most of fun. One day morning, we hear some animal roaring. And we found lion's footprint right out of our camp. Overall, this camp gives us a very unique experience.
